Tour n. 14 Naples--Capri--Sorrento
From April 1st to October 31st: daily (overnight in Capri). Free pick-up service at Hotel
Viennese from 6.45am to 7.15am approx.
1st day:
Rome/Naples/Pompei/Sorrento/Capri - Leave Rome by the Autostrada del Sole southwards. Arrival in Naples, short city tour and proceed to
Pompei. Luch at a restaurant and visit the excavations of this Romen city. Continue to Sorrento and embark towards the Island of
Capri. Transfert to Hotel dinner and overnight.
Capri, jewel of the Mediterranean, discovered by Greek navigators who colonised it until the 7th Century B.C. The Romens continued to enjoy the fascination of this island, Augustus made it his summer residence as did Tiberius after him, falling in love with this corner of paradise he built 12 villas and spent the rest of his life there.
2nd day:
Capri/Sorrento/Rome. Breakfast at hotel. Weather permitting, visit the Blue Grotto. Even if the Island is surrounded by numerous grottos, the major attraction is given by the
Blue Grotto, which, since it has been discovered and described by an Austrian speleologist, attracts a constantly growing number of people. Lunch at a restaurant. Proceed to the famous
Piazzetta, meeting point of the international jet-set, visit the Augusto Gardens and panoramic view of the
Faraglioni. Transfer to the harbour to embark the boat to
Sorrento from where the journey back to Rome starts. Arrival at the hotels or nearby at 9.00pm approx.
